2011 Buffalo JDRF Walk
I can still need donations… and I thought having everything posted on a website and facebook would make it work. Apparently I am wrong. I guess with all the stuff going on lately, nobody has an extra money to help out a poor girl like myself. I was 9 when I was diagnosed with type 1 (juvenile) diabetes. Since then, I’ve had numerous instances where my blood sugar levels were not where they are supposed to be. I am not scared to tell the world what I go through on a daily basis, because it makes them more aware of what I do deal with daily. I am on an insulin pump called the Omnipod, and I LOVE IT! Best thing that has happened to me thus far from getting diabetes. The omnipod controls my blood sugar levels but constantly giving me a dose of insulin… because my pancreas doesn’t make any anymore.
But, Also because of that… I get low blood sugar levels. Like this morn, I woke up at 9:30 am — later then usual for myself, and my sugar level was at 35. Usually that’s not a good sign at all… but because I woke up.. I was ok. It’s not the first time… and Ive had times where I was higher than that, and completely passed out and had to have paramedics come to my house and “wake me up” and get me out of the mini coma I was in.
I’m not a spammer, and I’m not trying to steal your credit card number. I am just asking for a simple donation to help find a cure for diabetes and to help individuals suffering like myself. Please donate to Calla’s Crusaders and support Calla Rusch. Follow the link!!! You only have until 6/19/11 to donate to the Buffalo walk. If you missed it, don’t worry, I will keep you posted about the next walk in Westchester County in October!
